Wanking type noise in Gold Against The Soul (song)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJw2...utu.be#t=3m40s

3 minute 40 seconds in but it appears throughout the track.

Anyone know how they pulled it off technically?

Always thought it was some sort of acknowledgement of Dance Music technology?
You've at least made me hear it as your opening post now. Thanks!...

Ask what it is at that time in the song but mention it sounds like wanking after his follow up answer?

Never thought about it, it's just an effect, but at 3:45 and throughout the song me and my brother always referred to that sound as a dog kind of whining haha.

Try having one a month into a fruitless Citalopram prescription and maybe turn the reverb up a bit.

There's nothing funny about cit clit.

Isn't there supposed to be the sound of a pool ball being dropped into a frying pan somewhere on GATS? No idea if its that but they were obviously looking at percussion a bit more after the GT drum machine.

Isn't Shovel (from bloody MPeople) credited in the liner notes too ? I imagine he added some general wanky noise.

The 'snare' on Nostalgic Pushead, supposedly.

They used a piccolo snare on La Tristesse too - the same thing that is all over Teenage Dirtbag: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC3y9llDXuM - BONG!

Serious answer: If you mean the repeated 'schloppy' noises, I think it sounds they probably applied some kind of resonance/cutoff filter to exaggerate the peaks of the percussion (or samples of it?) into the odd sound you hear. That would be my guess anyway.
