You think Bon Jovi are endlessly more worthwhile from 1996?

No. I hate Bon Jovi and any pun related to that deadly boring band is beyond me. Read this and thought they were referring to MSP alone (albeit mistyping Richey's name):

In truth, whatever magic that band had went with Richie. They’re now just some guy that can no longer do his job very well backed by a bunch of session musicians.

I didn't bat an eyelid at "Richie" but that's hilarious

What do Bon Jovi and the Manics have in common?

Both had to bring in two extra guitarists when they lost a Richey.

It was Manics, Billy Idol and Bon Jovi, if I remember it well...

MSP shares a decent overlap with GnR

I just saw this poster...

Whatever that mic stand is doing looks really painful to me, but it might be an extreme way to hit those high notes.

The only way I look at it is they get to play to a lot of people who might like what they hear and go out and buy some of the stuff, so that's a good thing. More Manics fans

Your memory serves you well, but you missed out Little Angels who came on first. I think it went...

Little Angels
Manics
Billy Idol
Bon Jovi

... in that order.

The first time I'd ever seen the Manics. I'd gone with my (now ex) wife to see Bon Jovi there and was pleasantly surprised by the Manics. Put them on the back burner for two or three years till Richey disappeared then started following them a little more closely. Far from being a super fan, compared to some on here, but will be going to see them for the fifth time next year in Bath.
