He's the gift that keeps on giving.
"Know Your Enemy not being their best album but one of the best albums ever" is both a logically sound statement and entirely true in my opinion.

“We reserve the right to contradict ourselves”

The only Manics quote anyone need ever really take completely seriously*.

* N.B. I reserve the right to contradict myself too. Or do I?

As am I! Come on Trans Miss Europa Express...
Bad paraphrasing of Kraftwerk there!

No doubt he was just sounding out the love on this forum

Maybe some doubt

I like how he's always so open and honest when asked a question, he doesn't hide his feelings though maybe sometimes it's better to be more reserved, I dunno, though it's not intrusive to recognise he's going through a difficult time

I love Radio 4...if he can't find what he needs right now through music see if Book at Bedtime has a slot. Orwell's 1984....a bit of Camus in that Welsh lilt

And of course "70 Songs of Hatred and Failure".
Either of those would've been great in my book. 70 Songs of Hatred and Failure... they're just not as angry as they used to be and they've had more success than they could've ever dreamed of... Good luck with that one.

To be fair when you put it like that it doesn't sound so ridiculous when you think about it. I see the masses with about as much disdain as people tend to see PFAYM in these parts..

I might put it in my top 100 albums ever...

Is something going on here? Is this new The Last Jedi style red and black design signifying the arrival of something new, or a change just for the hell of it? https://twitter.com/Manics/status/93...207403008?s=17

Seeing the email made me giggle. Nicky certainly does like to contradict himself quickly.

Nicky's such a wazzock. Course I understand why he dangles the possible end of the band infront of people as it'll get people talking about the band again, it'd be the same for any band. Love us now cos you'll miss us when we're gone. Bet when Nicky turned around to James and Sean with Walk Me To The Bridge saying hey I've got a song about me wanting to leave the band, they just turned around and said yeah whatever, we'll make it the lead single for the next album and you're gonna tour it with us.

Still, I'm worried that one day Nicky will be the boy who cried wolf (no pun intended).

Well, Futurology wasn't their last album, after all - but the gap between this album and the last is mighty worrying.
